Although not required, creating a CAD (Computer Aided Design) model of the prototype is highly recommended. Any CAD program should work, but IronCAD is a sponsor of the K-12 InVenture Prize.

 

Through the InVenture Prize, or the website below, students can download free IronCAD software onto their computers. Note that this may not be available on school computers, depending on your school’s download policies.

 

IronCAD also sponsors an award at the K-12 InVenture Prize for best use of their software. Students can learn to use the software on their own, as there are a number of youtube help videos, and IronCAD should be very responsive with providing help they may need if students contact them.
